Patiala issued coins with Sikh legend :
"Degh Tegh Fateh; Nusrat Bedarang; Yaft az Nanak Guru Gobind Singh"
These coins were struck for ceremonial purpose during the Diwali festivities,
and were meanth for the personal use by the royal family. These were first
issued in VS1906 after the annexation of the Sikh empire by the British. This
shows that Patiala must have been using Gobindshahi's from Amritsar for its
ceremonial use.
