Kashmir Mint, VS1884 Rupee, Star symbol on Obverse 1884 with star mark (at 12.45) thus Sahai misread as shahab (bright star) in early reading. Diwan Kirpa Ram became Governor in late AD1826/early 1827 (VS 1883-1877) so it is assumed the Persian Kaf-K is his intial/mark. The period of Kirpa Ram's governorship appears to be one of experiments in the designs of silver coins. It will be noted that the reverse legend is arranged differently
